Late Bronze Age and later periods
Kition brings together Mycenaean, Phoenician and later layers. It is an especially useful place for discussing how one city could change its language, cults and political partners while continuing to exist.
After the excavations, we recommend visiting the Larnaca District Archaeological Museum and comparing the architectural remains with the finds.
At the site we concentrate on specific reference points: large stone blocks, the sanctuary, the harbour and the archaeological layer beneath the modern city.
