Eleven bastions form an almost perfect star. This design already took artillery into account.

It is best to begin with a map, choose two bastions and walk between them, noting where the modern city has absorbed the old defensive system.

At the site we focus on specific reference points: the eleven bastions, three gates, the shape of a bastion, and the relationship between the old wall and the modern city.
