Late Bronze Age
Researchers connect the city with Cyprus’s international contacts and with the debate over the location of ancient Alashiya, known from texts of the eastern Mediterranean.
The site lies in the northern part of the island. We check the current access rules separately and do not reduce the complex political context to an ordinary tourist footnote.
At the site we focus on specific reference points: the street grid, stone masonry, metallurgy and the sanctuary.
