Early Christian period
We saw the ruins of a basilica at the foot of the hill on which Kourion stands. Our photographs preserve columns and large areas of mosaic flooring.
During that trip we could not find an explanation of the complex in the information available to us and recorded it as a new excavation. We retain that observation as part of the history of our journey, while clarifying its date and name from the Department of Antiquities’ information.
At the site we focus on specific reference points: the colonnade at the foot of the hill, the apse, the mosaic floor and evidence of recent excavation.
