Fifteenth century
Saint Minas Monastery lies in the hills east of the village of Vavla, approximately ten kilometres from Pano and Kato Lefkara.
The monastery is associated with the fifteenth century and with the Dominican tradition; the complex was restored in 1754. Its first appearances in Greek sources date to the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
The monastery is known for a revered spring and for eighteenth-century frescoes painted by Philaretos. In the courtyard we examine the arcades, while in the church we look for paintings, inscriptions and the icon of Saint Minas.
