Panagia Sfalangiotissa Monastery was not easy to find. It lies close to Limassol, but at the end of a long road that begins as Sfalangiotissis Street and climbs the mountainside.
The monastery was founded in 1788. A local tradition connects the icon of the Mother of God with protection after a spider bite, and there is also a spring of holy water.
From outside, the pinkish walls, stepped roofline and semicircular arches are clearly visible. In the church we look for the revered icon, and in the grounds for the spring and the inscription recording the foundation date.
