Second century CE
In the Paphos Archaeological Museum we were especially interested in hollow vessels shaped like parts of the human body.
In ancient medicine such vessels were used as warmers: the form was chosen so that an object filled with warm water fitted a particular part of the body.
The display also allows visitors to compare finds from Palaepaphos, Nea Paphos and other sites in the district, following the region’s development from the city-kingdoms to the Hellenistic and Roman periods.
